Tech toys
From ipods that talk to you to cell phones and more tech toys are becoming the wave for the future among all ages and genders for a daily source of information.
The advancement in technology have brought many new gadgets that can be used by the public for their every need. From the palm of your hand you can access the Internet and get the news in the snap of your fingers. “I use my cell phone everyday to check my email,” said Shantae Washington a Housatonic Community College student.
Washington says that having her phone has become a big part of her life because she puts all her plans in it. With the ability to use her phone as a calender and planner she eliminates the extra baggage in carrying around extra books. “The main thing that I use my cell for is to communicate with others through texting,” said Washington
She said though she doesent look at her phone for news often she does use it for entertainment purposes like listening to music and also to go on to her myspace and facebook pages. Just like my phone I use my ipod for entertainment purpose too Washington said.
Amanda Chaisson a Southern Connecticut State University student said she uses her phone for Internet use along with everything else. “I listen to music, surf the web, and take a lot of photos with my camera phone,” said Chaisson. Her phone has grown to become a big part of her life and her phone is her link to her email and and texting.
Sometimes she goes to news sites on her phone but not to often because her phone is used mostly for communication with her friends. “One time when I lost my phone it felt like I had lost a piece of me,” said Chaisson.
Ipods are a source of now movies, music, and pictures that a person can use the device for. Taheisha Jones 35 and a employee from a music store said that her Ipod is what she uses everyday. Everywhere she goes she carries her Ipod and her cell phone to use.
Jones believes that it is impossible to be without these devices after you have used them once. “I use to have the green screen phone before i switched over to the blackberry storm. She uses her phone for entertainment purposes to check her email, text friends, and watch movies.
The advancement in technology brings new devices every year which eliminates the use of multiple devices and puts everything into one that fits into the palm of your hand. No matter what age everyone is getting into the technology frenzy to determining how their lives run everyday.

Just reading this, I felt as if it was wriiten about me. I have a Blackberry as well and I use it mainly to text my friends and family throughout each day. Texting has definitely become a major part of my life and it’s interesting that it has because less than a year ago I didn’t even have text messaging included in my plan. Now that I do, I can’t stop. I guess it’s because it’s so much more convenient and just less personal. Sometimes I don’t want to actually talk to someone, so texting is definitely the alternative.
I also have an i-Touch, which I use mainly to listen to music. I have basically deleted the radio out of my life. I can’t remember the last time I listened to the radio while I was in my car. I usually have my i-Touch hooked up to the cassette player in my car and when I’m in my room I continue to listen to music on my i-Touch using my i-Pod radio.
I only use my tech toys for entertainment purposes. I normally don’t use my i-Touch to go online and read the news. I do use it however to surf the web, whether it’s to go on Google, Map Quest, Myspace, Facebook, or Youtube.
I just love the fact that I have the ability to access the Internet with an i-Touch. I also love that I am able to record video on my Blackberry. I just love my tech toys and I don’t know what I would do without them!
